2005 Four Gold Coins Liu Bao

Details

'Si Jin Quan' (Four Gold Coins) is a brand of Liu Bao that has been ordered and packaged by a Hong Kong trading company of the same name since the late Qing dynasty (Guangxu period).

In 2014/2015 we offered a batch of 4 gold coins liu bao from 2000 & after several months of tasting and comparing, we decided that we weren't completely happy with the quality of the tea. The price was good, but we felt the quality wasn't quite up to our standards. Since then we have been tasting several different batches and trying to find something suitable as an alternative.

We recently came across this batch from 2005 and were struck by the difference. It was much cleaner in taste. Four Gold Coins Liu bao tends to be a bit heavier fermented than Wuzhou Tea Factory or Zhongcha teas, but this has a very distinct character and the aftertaste much longer and smoother.

I'm very happy to be able to offer this tea as an alternative for those seeking a clean Liu bao for everyday drinking.
